Seven(ish) Months in London

Allow to me begin by saying: soz! Accidentally took a month off this substack because I became Extremely Sad. You can guess at some reasons and others will remain a mystery because I am heaving myself into my Mysterious Era (she typed on her public blog).

Last Friday night (an evening popularized by Katy Perry) I met a nine-month-old puppy named Biscuit. I then met a nine-month-old puppy named Muffin. I am CRY.

On Saturday night I went up to Oxford with a friend to relive the memories of uni™, aka get slapped with recollections of sleep-deprived, cheap-wine-fueled escapades all about ye olde gorgeous towne.

It will come as a surprise to no one to hear that Oxford is extremely aesthetique upon a December’s eve. Also: cold as shit.

They let us walk around Brasenose College as we are ~alums~1 and…y’all. Look at this fckn place.

It’s a little unfathomable to me that a university is allowed to be this beautiful. Like…I was not worthy of these halls! I ate a veggie burger with a fried egg at midnight every Tuesday as I pulled an all-nighter on my weekly paper! Why did they let me anywhere near this stunning and historic architecture!

Makes you wonder how many pupils throughout the centuries have, similarly, been young idiots.

Devastooting that the university doesn’t allow anyone who doesn’t currently hold a Bodleian Library card into the libraries. WHY didn’t I hold onto mine from all those years ago! WHERE is it now! Most likely, as the majority of my belongings are: in a box in my parents’ house. Sigh.
